Baby & children car seats in France
According to French law, children under 10 must travel in a child seat. The kind of seat to use is determined on the weight of the child. Under 10kg a baby should be placed in a rear-facing car seat (front passenger seat or back seat). Between 10 and 18 kg the child should be installed in a seat with a harness. Above 18kg the child needs a booster seat.
Speed limits in France
Speed limits depend on the kind of road you're driving on. On toll motorways with normal traffic conditions the maximum speed is 130km/h. If it rains the limit is lowered to 110km/h. On free motorways maximum speed is usually 110km/h. On other road the speed limit is 90km/h. Drivers should also keep in mind that the limit is 50km/h in built up areas.
